Short answer
The subclass 485 Temporary Graduate visa lets eligible international students live, study and work in Australia temporarily after finishing their studies.
For a first 485 visa, you usually need to choose either the Post-Vocational Education Work stream or the Post-Higher Education Work stream.
You cannot change the stream after you lodge the application. Choose the correct stream before applying, because choosing the wrong stream may cause the application to fail.
The Replacement stream is now limited. From 1 July 2024, it is only available to a family member of a person who holds a 485 visa in the Replacement stream after meeting the primary criteria.
