Withdrawing the related visa or review application can cause the bridging visa to cease after a set period. The timing depends on the type of withdrawal and when the bridging visa was granted.
If a person withdraws the substantive visa application linked to a Bridging A, B, C or E visa, the bridging visa may cease 28 days after the withdrawal if it was granted before 19 November 2016, or 35 days after the withdrawal if it was granted on or after 19 November 2016.
Similar timing can apply when you withdraw an ART review application linked to the bridging visa. If you withdraw a judicial review application after being granted a bridging visa on that basis, the bridging visa will cease 28 days after the effective withdrawal date.
If a person withdraws an application for another bridging visa, that does not by itself affect any current bridging visa they already hold. A withdrawal by one family member also does not automatically withdraw the applications of other family members.
