Student visas / Subclass 590

Can family members be included in a subclass 590 Student Guardian visa application?

Student visas Subclass 590
Short answer

Subclass 590 is not a general family visa. Family members usually need to be included in a combined application, and only limited children can be approved as accompanying family members.

There are no subsequent entrant provisions for family members of a 590 visa holder. If a current student guardian wants to bring family members on subclass 590 visas, the guardian usually needs to reapply and include the relevant family members.

Only children under six years old at the time of decision may satisfy the secondary criteria as accompanying family members, and only in limited circumstances.
