It depends on whether the parent holds a bridging visa or has a pending visa application when the child is born.
If a child is born to a person who has applied for a visa and that application has not yet had a primary decision, the child may be taken to have applied for a visa of the same class and to have combined their application with the parent.
If a child is born in Australia to a bridging visa holder, the child is generally taken to have been granted, at birth, a visa of the same kind and class, with the same terms and conditions.
If both parents have applied for bridging visas or both hold bridging visas, the child may be connected to more than one bridging visa. If both parents are unlawful non-citizens when the child is born, the child will also be an unlawful non-citizen.
