Short answer

The subclass 482 Skills in Demand visa lets an approved employer sponsor a skilled overseas worker for a nominated position in Australia.

The visa is designed for employers who cannot source an appropriately skilled Australian worker for a position. It has three streams: Specialist Skills, Core Skills and Labour Agreement.

While the visa is in effect, the primary visa holder can work for the approved sponsor in the approved occupation. Eligible dependants can be included, and the visa allows multiple travel to and from Australia during the visa period.
